Bridle Trails

Lot and Catherine, 2006

At our doorstep; on our beautiful 16 acres we have tree-lined field perimeter trails bordered by woods. There is a spot for a campfire in view the B&B barn and by the pasture for close proximity. When conditions permit, there is a trail to follow in the woods with lovely trees and foliage.

About 4 minutes from us: Neighboring Williamsfield has miles of an old train bed that has parking lot access on Bush Rd.

About 5 minutes from us: Trails in this area include a beautiful scenic Lake Pymatuning experience on wide dirt roads off paved roads along the water that are very scenic and safe. They intertwine between lovely big trees and are in view of gorgeous Lake Pymatuning. You may trailer your horse and park easily. As long as you stay on the roads, dirt or paved, you are welcome to use the park, including the railroad bed that cuts through it. Private property butts up to the old RR bed, so we all must be respectful not to get off the trail. It would be a nice place to trailer 5 min from our place and they have clean outdoor bathrooms, picnic pavilions (some with fireplaces), a beach, and lovely trees. A small casual marina restaurant is sometimes open.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset. Answers to questions and maps are available at the Park Office off West Lake Rd.

About 25 minutes from us: Enjoy the Western Reserve Greenway - about 36 miles of trail along a public pathway. Closeby Mosquito Lake has 20 scenic miles of trails.

About 35 minutes from us: Swine Creek Park is located south off Route 87

About 45 minutes from us: a few large river valley parks with trails - in Painesville and Hamden-Chardon area. Chapin Forest in Mentor, OH has a lovely Metro Park for horses.

Most of the close-by trails are relatively flat - not treacherous. For those who love comfort and convenience while they horse around, this is the place. We enjoy seeing our guests safely ride - the reason for the trip!

Also, you may wish to view county park systems on the internet that would be in this area: Trumbull, Ashtabula, and Lake counties in Ohio, as well as Crawford and Mercer counties, in Pennsylvania. News from local horse associations will be continuing to inform us of more riding trail opportunities.
